I was close not to attend this series but decided to grab the wheel and start practising on the morning of the first race day. I certainly don't regret that decision. Especially first two races offered some nice close battles, and of course winning the championship feels great too

It was also nice to see how much some guys have improved their driving lately. It just shows that even after years and years of practise you can still learn something every time you start your engine.

Big thanks to Rony once again and sorry for not attending the last race. There are several reasons why I didn't race, but to be honest, the biggest one was a lack of motivation after the championship was basically secured. I was still ready to join for one lap to get that one point if Pete had won the qualification.

Such a weird result. Litmanen only 0.04s faster in qualifying, but lapped everyone in the race

For the first half of the race I thought it could be possible, but then TC-R guys picked up the pace.

Usually I have screwep up my qualifying runs in this league, but this time I got quite close to my PB. Race setup didn't feel that great in a short practice stint, but in the race it worked like a dream. Very satisfied with my performance. Don't think I have ever driven FO8 as well as yesterday.

This round was tough. No straights to rest and reset mentally... My tyres totally froze down during last 15 laps and didn't really know how much I could push them without spinning or popping a tyre. So I took last laps extra carefully looking after lead that was gifted to me. AdamW had a nice different tyre/fuel strategy and actually I thought about doing the same before the race.

Yeah, I think it's more about what you are used to. I use the racing line to position myself correctly on the track, but similarly I could use either tire marks or signs or something else for that. The line is just easily detectable as green/yellow/red color stands out well from the grey surface. Of course the racing line can be used only for understanding your position on the track and not actual turning and braking points because the line is usually far from optimal. After practising a track for some time, the racing line becomes quite redundant, because you get used to the surroundings.

Yes, usually I do. It doesn't make me faster but maybe sometimes it helps me learn the track quicker. Wouldn't really need it here though as I know this track well enough.

Last week's race from my point of view, starting last.

You probably mean that your tyre pressures were too high.

My race surely didn't go as planned. I was involved in several racing incidents during the race. Still, when it was around 10 laps to go, I managed to get in the lead, because I wasn't the only one having problems. However, when I was leading I went out of the track, because I didn't (or my car didn't) downshift in last turn and that cost me the win. Don't really know how that happened and actually noticed it only after the race from the replay. Very mixed feelings after and during the race.

There probably will be another post like that, but it doesn't contain any important new information. It's more like a promotion/reminder of the upcoming round.

To my knowledge R3 tyres last very well. They just get cold, which affects handling quite drastically at least on some tracks.

I couln't get the lap together during qualifying and I knew it was going to be a nightmare to pass on that track, so I was pretty sceptic about my chances in the race. However, mistakes from others helped and also managed to pass Yann after following him first 30 laps. Early christmas present from Pete was also welcome

That is not worth a penalty imo. Sarlin was obviously trying to make a move that was not going to work out. However, lucaf started to turn left much earlier than normally in that turn, leaving Sarlin no time to react and back down. Just leaving my objective opinion here.

For me it is fine either way. I just hope in future league races it is clearly stated if BC is allowed or not. If it is not mentioned in the rules, there will always be 1 or 2 guys in the race using BC and gaining an advantage over others. There is nothing more annoying than to realize after the race that one of the reasons (or the only reason) why you lost to some driver is that he was using BC.

Yeah, that's why we need a rule. There is always someone who wants to take an advantage, even though most of the drivers would decide something else. As Pete said, BC should either be recommended or disallowed. Personally, both are fine for me. But as long as majority want to use auto clutch, it would be easier just to disallow BC. Also, if over half of the grid used AC, I would feel quite "dirty" to use BC even if it was recommended.

Because, for example in last Tuesday's combo, it was possible to gain over 0.1s per lap by using it. One tenth is a lot in a track with only two turns.

Most people want to use auto clutch for some reason. I don't know, maybe it's because it is a little bit easier to use or maybe some people don't have a good button on their wheel for it. Also, newcomers probably don't even know that bc is faster. So bc makes difference between inexperienced and experienced drivers even bigger and races become less interesting.

That's why using auto clutch has become kind of fair play rule among LFS drivers (that I know). There was discussion on this topic also on Cityliga forums some time ago. There admins eventually decided to disallow bc.

Yes I know this is just a fun racing league, but it isn't any fun that some people decide to use bc while majority sticks with auto clutch. Let's keep it fun for everyone
